Vinicius Junior will miss Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga match against Valencia next Sunday due to accumulated yellow cards.
The Brazilian star received a yellow card in the 83rd minute of Real Madrid’s match against Rayo Vallecano, his fifth of the season, resulting in a one-match suspension.
This news isn’t entirely bad for Vinicius, as it will spare him the trip to Mestalla Stadium, one of the venues where he has been subjected to the most racist and hateful chants.
The 25-year-old was responsible for the imprisonment of five Valencia fans and the banning of several others from attending matches after they were found guilty of directing racist chants at him during previous visits with Real Madrid.
It’s worth noting that Valencia denounced the documentary that recounted Vinicius’s experience with racism at Mestalla, with the club’s management deeming it full of inaccuracies and lies.
Vinicius will not be the only Real Madrid player missing against Valencia, as Jude Bellingham is also expected to be absent due to an injury that is anticipated to keep him sidelined for an extended period.
It is worth noting that Vinicius has made 32 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists.
