Eight clubs interested in signing Raheem Sterling

Several European clubs are exploring the possibility of signing Raheem Sterling on a free transfer this winter, following the mutual termination of his contract with Chelsea a few days ago.

The England international has not played a single match for the Blues this season and rejected attempts to leave last summer due to his hefty £325,000 weekly wage, before finally agreeing to part ways with the London club to maintain his hopes of playing in the 2026 World Cup.

The Daily Mail revealed that four clubs from within England have expressed clear interest in signing Sterling: Tottenham, Fulham, West Ham, and Crystal Palace.

Interest in the 31-year-old is not limited to Premier League clubs, but extends to some of Europe’s giants, with Napoli in particular hoping to secure Sterling’s services given the evident lack of attacking options in Antonio Conte’s squad.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have renewed their interest in Sterling as an alternative attacking option, after the Bavarians tried to sign him last summer but the deal fell through at the last minute.

Sterling has yet to make a final decision about his next destination, and interestingly, he is willing to take a significant pay cut if necessary to join a club that guarantees him regular playing time, hoping to convince Thomas Tuchel to include him in England’s World Cup squad.

The player is inclined to stay in England, specifically in London, but he is also open to the possibility of joining a club outside the Premier League if the right fit comes along.
