Surprise: Will Omar Marmoush move to a La Liga giant?

Spanish media reports indicate that Atlético Madrid has entered negotiations with Manchester City to sign Omar Marmoush on loan this winter, with an option to buy next summer.

The “Egyptian Prince” has received several offers from within the English Premier League, Bayern Munich, and Turkey, but so far, the player prefers to stay with Pep Guardiola’s squad and make his final decision next June.

According to recent reports, Atlético Madrid is the latest club interested in signing Marmoush this January and is prepared to offer €55 million upfront, with an additional €15 million in add-ons (next summer), to convince Manchester City to agree to the deal.

Spanish officials are aware that signing Marmoush will be extremely difficult, but the loan offer with an option to buy, totaling €75 million, might be convincing to the English club, which paid the same amount in the winter of 2015 to secure the services of the then-Eintracht Frankfurt star.

The biggest dilemma at present is that Pep Guardiola prefers to keep Marmoush until the end of the season and considers him the only available option at center forward after Erling Haaland. Furthermore, the City management is inclined to support the manager’s wishes, regardless of any financial incentives offered.

It’s worth noting that Marmoush has only scored two goals this season in all competitions for Manchester City.
