Al Ahly has finalized the deal for its new foreign striker, reaching an agreement with Norwegian club Trosmo to acquire Eltsen Camões.
Al Ahly entered into lengthy negotiations with Trosmo approximately two weeks ago. After considerable controversy surrounding changes to the financial terms by the club’s management, the deal was finally completed on Wednesday.
According to Egyptian media reports, Al Ahly will pay $360,000 to acquire Camões on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for $1.8 million next summer.
With Camões’ arrival, Al Ahly is expected to give the green light for Gradiscar to leave and return to Europe. It is also possible that Mohamed Sherif will be loaned to Al Ittihad Alexandria.
Camoes is a 26-year-old Angolan striker with Portuguese citizenship. He began his career in Portugal with the youth teams of Sporting Lisbon, Marítimo, and Club Deportivo Nacional.
Camões has had a long career in Portuguese football, and has also played for Czech side Slavia Prague and Swedish club Skellefteå. In February 2025, Tromsø paid €250,000 to secure his services.
Camoes’ best season was last year, when he scored 17 goals and provided 7 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions. This season, he has only played one match and has yet to find the net.
