Reports: Crystal Palace Interested in Signing Al Ahly Star

Egyptian media outlets have reported Crystal Palace’s interest in signing Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim during the current winter transfer window.

The English club lost their captain, Marc Guehi, after his €20 million transfer to Manchester City, prompting Palace officials to seek a new center-back before the transfer window closes.

Among the names reportedly considered by the club is Yasser Ibrahim, who was scouted by Crystal Palace during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, a source close to Yasser Ibrahim denied these reports, stating that the player has not received any offers from any club this winter.

At the moment, Yasser Ibrahim prefers to focus on his career with Al Ahly and dreams of ending his playing days in the red jersey, regardless of any other offers he may receive.

Reports linking Crystal Palace with a move for Yasser Ibrahim are unlikely to be accurate, given that Oliver Glasner would need a defender with European experience to make an immediate impact, while Ibrahim has never played outside of Egypt.

Ibrahim spent seven years with Al Ahly, having joined the Red Devils in January 2019, and won over 20 trophies with the club.
