Arsenal suffered their third defeat of the season, losing 3-2 to Manchester United on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium in the 23rd round of the 2025-26 Premier League.
The Gunners took the lead with an own goal by Lisandro Martinez in the 29th minute, before Bryan Mbeumo equalized in the 37th minute. Patrick Drogba then put the Red Devils ahead in the 50th minute.
In the 84th minute, Mikel Merino leveled the score for Arsenal, before Matheus Cunha unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 87th minute, scoring United’s third goal and securing all three points for his team.
This victory marks Michael Carrick’s second win since taking over last week, following the derby victory against Manchester City (2-0).
In the same round, Manchester City secured a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, and Aston Villa followed suit with a 2-0 win on Sunday. With Arsenal’s recent stumble, the Premier League title race is heating up with just 15 rounds remaining.

Arsenal maintains its lead in the Premier League with 50 points, but the gap with Manchester City and Aston Villa has narrowed to just 4 points.
Manchester United has secured fourth place with 38 points, followed by Chelsea with 37. Liverpool, after their loss to Bournemouth, has dropped to sixth place with 36 points.
West Ham United boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation after defeating Sunderland at the start of the round, reaching 20 points, just 5 points behind Nottingham Forest and Leeds United in the safe positions.
