According to the newspaper Sport, Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has informed Barcelona’s management, through his agent Jorge Mendes, of his desire to wear the Catalan club’s jersey starting next season.
Silva’s contract with City expires at the end of the current season, and he has decided to end his nine-year journey at the Etihad Stadium and embark on a new challenge outside the English Premier League.
According to the latest report, Barcelona is the club Silva most desires to join, more so than any other club that might be available to him in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona’s management has already been informed of this desire through Jorge Mendes, who is known for his close relationship with sporting director Deco and president Joan Laporta. However, the Blaugrana management has not yet made a final decision on the matter.
The Portuguese international will have to take a significant pay cut to align with Barcelona’s precarious financial situation. Meanwhile, Deco is awaiting Hansi Flick’s opinion on signing the player, especially given Barcelona’s already crowded midfield.
Juventus is closely monitoring the situation and has made Silva a lucrative offer, hoping to persuade him to join the Old Lady. They are now waiting to see Barcelona’s decision and how negotiations with the player will unfold in the coming period to finalize this transfer.
