In a Mourinho-esque fashion, Slott belittles Liverpool!

Liverpool manager Arne Slott has made a statement that has angered Reds fans, downplaying the club’s achievements in recent years in the Premier League.

Slott successfully led Liverpool to the Premier League title last season, but the team has faltered this season, dropping to fifth place in the competition with a very poor performance both offensively and defensively.

In a press interview, Slot was asked about the boos he received from Liverpool fans after the 1-1 draw with Burnley. He responded in a manner reminiscent of José Mourinho, saying, “If I’ve only been in the job for a year and a half, and I’ve already won the Premier League, while the club has only won it twice in 30 years, then I’m surprised to hear that.”

He added, “But if that’s the situation, I have to accept it. I’ve tried the same things I tried last season this season. Every time we were a goal down, I made attacking substitutions and tried to field the most attacking team possible.”

“No Liverpool manager, let alone the players, can be satisfied with a draw at home against Burnley, but if we disregard the result, which is impossible, it was our best performance against a compact defense since I took over,” he added.

His comments about Liverpool winning the league twice in 30 years sparked a wave of criticism against the Dutchman, who appears to be nearing the end of his tenure at Anfield if he fails to improve results.

It’s worth noting that English media reports have suggested Slott could be sacked if Liverpool lose to either Marseille or Bournemouth this week, with the job potentially being offered to former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso.
