Rafinha will miss Barcelona’s La Liga match against Real Sociedad this Sunday due to injury.
The Brazilian star suffered a right leg injury during Barcelona’s Copa del Rey Round of 16 match against Racing Santander last Thursday.
Hansi Flick confirmed in the pre-match press conference that Rafinha’s injury is not serious, but he has not yet decided whether or not to include him in the squad for the match against the Basque club.
The German coach announced the Barcelona squad list for the trip to Anoeta Stadium on Sunday evening, and Rafinha’s name was not included.
Barcelona’s official website stated that the 28-year-old’s absence from the Real Sociedad match is merely a “precautionary measure” and there is no cause for concern regarding his return to the pitch.
Unless there are any new developments or the injury worsens, the Brazilian is expected to be available for the Champions League group stage match against Slavia Prague next Wednesday.
Rafinha is one of Barcelona’s standout players this season, having scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 12 matches across all competitions.
