The two biggest clubs in Spanish football are preparing for a “battle” to sign a breakout talent from the Dutch league.
According to a report published by the newspaper AS, the player in question is Ryan Bonida, who currently plays for Dutch giants Ajax.
The 19-year-old primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but possesses the tactical versatility to play as a playmaker or winger, and he is projected to become one of the most sought-after players in the world by 2025.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have been closely monitoring Bonida recently and have compiled detailed reports on him, preparing to make a move to sign him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Real Madrid currently holds the advantage due to its financial position, but the Spanish giants will face stiff competition from Premier League clubs who are also closely following the player of Moroccan descent.
Bonida, who holds both Belgian and Moroccan citizenship, joined Ajax’s youth academy from Anderlecht in 2022 and made his Eredivisie debut on February 16, 2025.
He made his Champions League debut for Ajax this season against Benfica, earning special praise from José Mourinho, who said: “What impresses me is his courage in seeking out and engaging in one-on-one situations.”
