PSG’s Decisive Response to Dembélé’s Financial Demands for Contract Renewal

The French newspaper L’Équipe has revealed Paris Saint-Germain’s stance on Ousmane Dembélé’s financial demands for renewing his contract with the French club.

Dembélé’s contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2028, and Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s administration began negotiations for a renewal after his outstanding performances last season, which culminated in him winning both the Ballon d’Or and The Best FIFA Men’s Player awards.

Dembélé is open to a long-term stay at the Parc des Princes, but he is demanding €60 million annually, compared to his current salary of €18 million.

According to the latest report, Paris Saint-Germain’s management has informed Dembélé’s agent that they will maintain their strict salary policy and will not agree to grant the French star the exorbitant salary he is requesting.

The club has no intention of changing its wage policies and categorically refuses to revert to its previous practices of lavish spending on salaries during the era when players like Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappé were part of the squad.

Paris Saint-Germain’s offer has reached €30 million per year, which would make Dembélé the highest-paid player in Europe. However, his agent insists on exceeding this figure, arguing that he is currently the best player in the world and deserves a completely different status from other players.

It’s worth noting that French newspapers recently reported interest from the Saudi Professional League in signing Dembélé, which would potentially guarantee him a salary exceeding €60 million.
