Real Madrid received positive news regarding Rodrygo Goes’ availability for the 2026 Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona, scheduled for Sunday.
The Brazilian international sustained an injury during Thursday’s semi-final match against Atlético Madrid, in which he scored Real Madrid’s second goal. The injury initially appeared serious, casting doubt on his participation in the highly anticipated Clásico.
According to Cadena COPE, Rodrygo underwent a medical examination on Saturday and subsequently participated in team training. He appeared to be 100% fit and free of any pain.
Fortunately for Real Madrid, Rodrygo’s injury was minor and did not involve a hamstring tear. Consequently, he is expected to be available for the match against Barcelona at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (The Shining Jewel).
In the same vein, Raúl Asensio is also expected to be available for El Clásico, after Real Madrid’s medical staff worked extensively to treat the muscle injury he sustained against Atlético Madrid.
However, Antonio Rüdiger will definitely miss the match, as his injury is not minor and his absence may extend beyond the Spanish Super Cup final.
It’s worth noting that Kylian Mbappé has traveled to Saudi Arabia and is expected to play against Barcelona, even if he needs pain-relieving injections, as he has not yet fully recovered from his knee sprain.
