Arsenal Football Club has announced that its star player, Bukayo Saka, has reached an agreement to sign a new long-term contract, continuing his career at the Emirates Stadium.
Reports indicate that the new contract will make the 24-year-old one of the highest-paid players in the club’s history. His previous salary was £200,000 per week, and this figure is expected to nearly double.
This agreement is the latest step in Arsenal’s strategy to solidify its core players and maintain the stability of its main squad as it competes for titles. This follows the contract renewals of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri, and Miles Lewis Skelly last summer.
The England international has become an indispensable part of the Gunners’ lineup since his debut in 2018, after progressing through the club’s renowned Hull End academy. Despite suffering a hamstring injury that required surgery in December 2024 and sidelined him for three months, he still managed to finish the previous season with 12 goals and 13 assists in 37 appearances.
Saka is a model of consistency at Arsenal. In the 2023-2024 season, he first wore the captain’s armband and finished as the team’s top scorer with 20 goals. This season, the “Golden Boy” continues his impressive form, having scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists in 27 matches so far.
