Erling Haaland’s goal for Manchester City against Brighton in the Premier League on Wednesday was anything but ordinary. It cemented his place in history and added to the list of records the Norwegian star has become accustomed to.
Haaland’s goal came from a penalty kick, but its true significance lies in the fact that it was the 35,000th goal since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.
Chris Wood’s goal for Burnley against Leeds United in August 2021 was the 30,000th goal in the history of the world’s most competitive league.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old reached his 105th Premier League goal, surpassing the legendary Didier Drogba, who scored 104 goals for Chelsea.
Also, Haaland’s total Premier League goals at the Etihad Stadium have reached 60 since joining the English club, while no other player has scored more than 39 goals at their home ground.
It’s worth noting that Haaland has reached 20 Premier League goals this season, and in his career with Manchester City, he has scored 150 goals in 174 appearances across all competitions.
