German media reports indicate that one of Bayern Munich’s stars dreams of joining Barcelona during the upcoming winter transfer window.
The player in question is Leon Goretzka, who has a strong relationship with Hansi Flick, having worked with him at Bayern Munich from 2019 to 2022.
According to the report, Goretzka spoke with Flick in recent days and offered his services to the coach, suggesting a move to Barcelona in January.
The 30-year-old’s contract with Bayern Munich expires next summer, and the Bavarian giants have no intention of renewing Goretzka’s stay at the Allianz Arena.
Therefore, the German international is considering leaving Bayern early, a move the club would welcome, provided they receive a suitable offer.
Despite Barcelona already possessing a number of midfielders, Flick admires Goretzka’s abilities and believes he would be a valuable addition to the team. This strengthens the possibility of a January move for a nominal fee, in line with the club’s financial situation at Camp Nou.
However, it seems more likely that Barcelona will prefer to wait until next summer before deciding whether to sign Goretzka on a free transfer or pursue other options to bolster Flick’s squad.
Goretzka has made 26 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
