Mohamed Salah might return to Serie A again in the upcoming winter transfer window, given his desire for consistent playing time, which contradicts Liverpool manager Arne Slott’s vision.
The Italian newspaper “La Repubblica” revealed that Roma is in negotiations with Salah, hoping to bring him back to the Giallorossi on a six-month loan.
Salah’s hefty salary at Liverpool, which reaches £400,000 per week, remains the biggest obstacle to the “Egyptian King’s” move to the Italian capital.
It seems that Salah is open to the idea of joining Roma until the end of the season. On the one hand, he would be competing for the Serie A title and remaining among the top teams, while on the other hand, he would keep his future with Liverpool for next season open to all possibilities.
If Roma succeeds in finding a solution that avoids paying Salah around €12 million for six months, then the deal could become a reality.
In this regard, Salah and his agent are expected to hold a crucial meeting with Liverpool’s management upon the player’s return from the Africa Cup of Nations to make a final decision regarding his future at the club.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabian clubs would be interested in signing Salah in January should he confirm his desire to leave Anfield.
Salah played for Roma between 2015 and 2017, making 83 appearances for the Giallorossi, scoring 34 goals and providing 21 assists.
This season, Roma are enjoying a remarkable run under coach Gian Piero Gasperini, currently sitting fourth in Serie A, just three points behind league leaders Inter.
