Cristiano Ronaldo, the Al-Nassr star, confirmed that he will do his utmost to reach 1000 career goals before retiring.
The Portuguese star’s statements came after he won the Globe Soccer 2025 award for Best Player in the Middle East, which he won for the second consecutive time.
Speaking to the fans after the ceremony, Ronaldo said, “I thank the organizers of the Globe Soccer Awards. I am happy to see this constellation of players, club presidents, agents, and wonderful people, especially my wife Georgina. It’s a fantastic night.”
He added, “It’s difficult to continue playing at 40, but I still have the passion. I aim to win new championships.”
He concluded, “I aim to reach the goal number that we all know (goal number 1000), God willing.”
Ronaldo reached 956 goals after scoring a brace on Saturday in Al-Nassr’s match against Al-Akhdoud in the Saudi League.
Given that Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr is still valid until the summer of 2027, and with his current scoring rate, scoring 44 goals is not impossible, provided that he continues in the same manner without stopping.
