Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe received an invitation from his close friend Achraf Hakimi to attend Morocco’s matches in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The French star accepted the invitation and traveled to the Moroccan capital, Rabat, in recent hours.
Mbappe’s first half of the season ended with Real Madrid’s match against Sevilla last week, and he has a break until December 29th, allowing him to travel as he pleases before returning to prepare for the Spanish Super Cup, where Real Madrid will face Atlético Madrid on January 8th in Saudi Arabia.
According to Moroccan media, Mbappe will be in the stands at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Friday when the Atlas Lions play Mali in their second group stage match, following an invitation extended to the 25-year-old by Hakimi in recent days.
Another close friend of Hakimi, Paris Saint-Germain star and Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé, is also expected to attend the Mali match.
Mbappé will not only attend the Morocco-Mali match, but may also be present at several other games before returning to Real Madrid, thus continuing the trend of football stars and legends attending this historic edition of the Africa Cup of Nations being held in Morocco.
Zinedine Zidane appeared during the Algeria-Sudan match last Wednesday, having traveled to Morocco specifically to support his son Luca, who has become the Desert Warriors’ starting goalkeeper. The French football legend is expected to make another appearance during Algeria’s remaining matches in the African tournament.
