Real Madrid Demands Record Financial Compensation in the Negrera Case

Real Madrid’s efforts to expose corruption in the infamous “Negrera bribery” case, involving Barcelona, will not cease after nearly two decades. The club’s management may demand record financial compensation for the sporting and psychological damages inflicted.

According to the newspaper AS, voices within the Santiago Bernabéu are calling for more than just a court ruling; they are demanding substantial financial compensation from Barcelona for the suspicious payments made to Negrera, which undermined the integrity of Spanish competitions.

Real Madrid has submitted a formal request to the court seeking 625 documents, including financial audits, investigations, and invoices detailing Barcelona’s financial transactions between 2010 and 2021. The request also includes the financial statements from 2010 to 2018, which detail final payments made to seven companies linked to the Neguera bribery case. These companies are accused of receiving €8.4 million without clear justification.

Barcelona maintains its position that these payments, and others, were solely for consultancy services, and that the money never reached referees and did not influence the course of events in La Liga or any other competitions.

Florentino Perez and his entourage will continue to exert all their efforts on the judiciary to expand the scope of the case, and there is no intention whatsoever of backing down, no matter what Barcelona does, and even if Laporta decides to re-ally with Real Madrid in the Super League case, there is a strong belief within Real Madrid that the club has been wronged and deprived of many titles due to refereeing collusion, and that Barca will pay a heavy price.
