Officially… Real Madrid star to leave in January

French club Lyon has finalized the signing of Brazilian striker Enrdrick on loan from Real Madrid, securing his services until the end of the current season.

The 19-year-old joins the Ligue 1 side on a fixed loan deal (without an option to buy). Lyon will cover part of the player’s salary during his stay, while Real Madrid has included performance-related clauses in the agreement.

Madrid will be entitled to additional compensation if Enrdrick fails to start at least 25 matches in all competitions. This number is flexible and may be adjusted depending on Lyon’s progress in the Coupe de France and the Europa League.

Enrdrick will wear the number 9 shirt for Lyon, reflecting the pivotal role he is expected to play in coach Paulo Fonseca’s attacking system.

Enrdrick will be ineligible to play against Monaco on January 3rd due to French regulations requiring an additional four days after registration for a player to be eligible to play.

Enrdrick  attracted Lyon’s interest last October after struggling for playing time at Real Madrid in the first half of the season. The forward made just three appearances this season, including one start in the Copa del Rey and brief appearances in La Liga and the Champions League.

The Brazilian agreed to join Real Madrid from Palmeiras in December 2022 and officially arrived in Spain in July 2024. Since then, he has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Madrid, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.

Enrdrick believes that playing regularly in Ligue 1 will boost his chances of returning to the Brazilian national team before next year’s World Cup.
