Real Madrid’s management has no intention of attempting to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in the near future. This is due to the presence of Kylian Mbappé and his remarkable performances at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Norwegian international has long been linked with a move to Los Blancos over the past few years, and in recent months, it was suggested that Real Madrid might be interested in signing Haaland, especially given Florentino Pérez’s desire to create a new “Galácticos” (a nickname for Haaland).
According to Spanish press reports, Haaland is not on Real Madrid’s radar. The management sees no alternative to signing a new striker, given Mbappé’s incredible form, which culminated in him scoring 59 goals throughout 2025.
The Merengues’ management believes that signing Haaland now, with Mbappé already at the club, would create unnecessary conflicts. Furthermore, convincing Manchester City to sell their star player would require a huge sum, especially considering the Norwegian’s long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium.
At the moment, it seems unlikely that Haaland would even consider leaving City, even though this season is likely to be Pep Guardiola’s last. The player is happy and satisfied with his role and wants to achieve more individual and team success with the English giants.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s management is inclined to be patient with Erling Haaland, viewing him as the future striker at the Bernabéu. With Gonzalo García already in the squad, there’s a belief that a new striker is never needed, and the club is focusing on other priorities in midfield and central defense.
