Cristiano Ronaldo could face Egypt again!

Egyptian media outlets reported that a marketing company has offered the Egyptian Football Association a friendly international match against Portugal during the upcoming international break in March.

The Egyptian national team’s preparations for the World Cup begin during this break, after being drawn into a group with Colombia, Uzbekistan, and the winner of the intercontinental play-off (DR Congo, Jamaica, or New Caledonia).

The company proposed that Ronaldo and his teammates play Egypt in March, pending coach Hossam Hassan’s decision on whether to accept the match or choose another opponent as part of the Pharaohs’ preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Even if the match doesn’t take place in March, it could be postponed to May or June during both teams’ final World Cup preparations.

This match would bring back memories of the one played in March 2018 in Switzerland, when Portugal also faced Egypt and managed to overturn a one-goal deficit to win 2-1 in the final minutes.

It is worth noting that Egypt will face Spain in the March break in Qatar, and it is said that the Pharaohs are also likely to play against Argentina, knowing that the Nile country will face Belgium, New Zealand and Iran in the upcoming World Cup.
