According to the German newspaper Bild, Real Madrid and Manchester City are locked in a fierce battle to sign Bayern Munich star Michael Olise.
The Frenchman impressed at Crystal Palace in recent years before his talent truly blossomed after joining Bayern Munich last year, establishing himself as one of the world’s best right wingers.
Real Madrid are considering a move for Olise in the summer of 2026, especially with Rodrygo’s expected departure and Florentino Perez’s club looking for different attacking options to replace their current squad.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of the Frenchman and would be delighted if Manchester City secured his signature, preferring him to cheaper alternatives like Bournemouth’s Antonio Simeone.
Despite interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City, a move away from Bayern Munich next summer is highly unlikely, as the Bavarian club has no intention of selling him under any circumstances, considering him a key pillar of Vincent Kompany’s squad.
Christian Falk, a journalist for Bild newspaper known for his close ties to the Bayern management, said, “Bayern Munich is a club that buys, not sells. So, if they don’t want to sell, they won’t. And Olise is certainly a talent they don’t want to sell. This season, in particular, has shown that both Harry Kane and Michael Olise are indispensable to the team.”
He added, “He already has a long-term contract at the Allianz Arena, and don’t forget that Bayern Munich is already working hard to give him more money with an updated contract (including an additional year). So, at the moment, this means there’s no chance for Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and we could add many others to that list.”
It is worth noting that the 23-year-old has played 80 matches for Bayern Munich in all competitions, during which he scored 30 goals and made 37 assists.
