Morocco began their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 2-0 victory over Comoros at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The opening minutes of the match were disappointing for Morocco, with Soufiane Rahimi missing a penalty and Romain Saïss leaving the field with a seemingly serious injury.
In the second half, Brahim Diaz opened the scoring in the 55th minute, powerfully converting a cross from Noussair Mazraoui.
In the 74th minute, Ayoub El Kaabi sealed the win with a spectacular overhead kick.
With this victory, Morocco secured their first three points in a group that also includes Zambia and Mali.
The Atlas Lions will face Mali in their second match next Friday, and a win will guarantee Walid Regragui’s team qualification for the Round of 16.
We leave you with El Kaabi’s incredible goal…
