Mbappé equals Ronaldo’s historic record with Real Madrid… and celebrates in his style

Kylian Mbappé scored a goal and led Real Madrid to a 2-0 victory over Sevilla in the 17th round of La Liga.

With this goal, Mbappé’s total goals for Real Madrid in 2025 equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record.

Ronaldo previously scored 59 goals for Real Madrid in a single year, specifically in 2013.

The Sevilla match was Real Madrid’s last in 2025, and Mbappé seized the opportunity perfectly, scoring his 59th goal from a penalty kick.

The French international celebrated his historic goal in the style of Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he has always cited as his football idol, paying tribute to Ronaldo after equaling his record.

This year is Mbappé’s best ever in terms of goals scored, surpassing his previous record of 56 goals in 2022 with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe leads the La Liga scoring charts with 18 goals in 18 games for Real Madrid, and is second in the Golden Boot standings this season behind Erling Haaland, who has 19 goals in the Premier League with Manchester City.
