Kylian Mbappé has won his legal battle against Paris Saint-Germain after a French labor court ruled that Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s administration must pay him all outstanding wages from his final season at the Parc des Princes.
According to Mbappé, PSG withheld his salary from February to June 2024, as well as the bonuses stipulated in his contract. This was allegedly in retaliation for his decision not to renew his contract and to join Real Madrid on a free transfer the following summer.
Mbappé’s lawyers argued that his client should receive €55 million, representing all his outstanding wages. PSG denied that the player was owed any money and demanded a hefty fine of €440 million. The Real Madrid star responded by demanding additional compensation exceeding €200 million.
Ultimately, the French labor court ruled in his favor, confirming that Mbappé had been denied his dues and ordering Paris Saint-Germain to pay him €61 million, comprising €55 million in back wages plus interest.
Paris Saint-Germain has the right to appeal this ruling, meaning it is not final but rather part of a long legal process at various levels.
Mbappé joined PSG in the summer of 2017, and during his seven years with the Parisian club, he became the team’s all-time leading scorer with 235 goals, before transferring to Real Madrid in the summer of 2014 to pursue his dream of European glory.
