Erling Haaland scored twice for Manchester City against Crystal Palace on Sunday, leading his team to a 3-0 victory at Selhurst Park in the 16th round of the English Premier League.
The Norwegian international’s brace, in the 41st and 89th minutes, ensured Pep Guardiola’s men continued their pursuit of league leaders Arsenal, leaving the gap between the two sides at just two points in favor of the Gunners.
At the same time, Haaland surpassed the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo with this brace.
The 25-year-old reached 147 goals for Manchester City in all competitions, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s total goals for Manchester United in English football across two spells.
Remarkably, Haaland broke Ronaldo’s scoring record in England in just 168 matches, while the Madeira native needed 346 matches across two spells to score 145 goals.
Furthermore, Haaland is now just one goal away from equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s Premier League goal tally for Manchester United, having reached 102 goals compared to the Portuguese star’s 103.
Overall, Haaland has scored 36 goals in 27 appearances this season for both Manchester City and the Norwegian national team.
The Norwegian also leads the Premier League scoring charts this season with 17 goals, six ahead of his closest rival, Brentford’s Igor Tiago.
