Hugo Ekiteke needed just 46 seconds to open the scoring for Liverpool against Brighton in the Premier League.
Joe Gomez headed the ball down to Ekiteke inside the penalty area, and the Frenchman found himself one-on-one with the Brighton goalkeeper. He unleashed a powerful shot, giving the Reds the lead after only 46 seconds.
Ekiteke’s goal is Liverpool’s fastest in the Premier League since Naby Keita’s (the fastest ever) goal against Huddersfield Town in 2019.
It’s also the fastest goal in the Premier League this season after 15 rounds.
Ekiteke has now scored nine goals for Liverpool and six in the Premier League in 15 appearances for the Reds.
