Rayan Cherki produced one of the most beautiful assists of the season during his appearance for Manchester City against Sunderland on Saturday.
Cherki initially set up City’s first goal against their visitors, passing the ball to Ruben Dias, who unleashed a thunderous shot to give the home side the lead in the 35th minute.
But the truth is, his second assist, which led to Phil Foden’s third goal, was from another world entirely.
Cherki received the ball on the right flank, broke into the penalty area, and delivered a stunning rabona cross that Foden headed into the net.
Thanks to Cherki’s two assists and City’s 3-0 victory, the gap between Pep Guardiola’s team and league leaders Arsenal has been reduced to two points after the Gunners suffered a 2-1 defeat at Villa Park against Aston Villa.
