Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has suffered a major blow with the confirmation that star striker Dusan Vlahovic will be sidelined for at least two months after the Serbian was forced off injured during the match against Cagliari.
The Bianconeri forward left the game after just 31 minutes, clearly in pain in his left leg. Tests revealed that the Serbian striker suffered a serious adductor muscle injury.
Vlahovic is now expected to be out for the remainder of 2025 and is unlikely to return until February of next year, meaning Spalletti will be without his top scorer.
The Juventus striker has scored six goals in 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season and has been the preferred choice under the new Juventus manager.
Jonathan David and Luis Openda have been used as backup options for Vlahovic since Spalletti’s arrival, prompting David to consider a move to La Liga in January. However, Vlahovic’s absence will likely force Juventus to reconsider any deal that would allow David to leave in 2026, and the Bianconeri are also considering a temporary addition to their attack in January.
While the need to sign a new goalscorer remains Juventus’ top priority, Vlahovic’s contract situation has become a pressing matter, and the Bianconeri have taken a step back from negotiations following the Serbian star’s injury.
