Liverpool Legend: Salah Only Speaks Out When He Wants a New Contract

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has launched a scathing attack on Mohamed Salah, urging him to speak to the media during this difficult period. Carragher believes the “Egyptian King” only makes an appearance in front of fans when things are going well.

Liverpool have suffered six defeats in their last seven matches across all competitions, dropping to 12th place in the Premier League, amidst heavy criticism of Salah’s poor form.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has spoken to the media on several occasions about the team’s current struggles, but Salah remains silent.

Carragher commented, “I have to say that after all these defeats for Liverpool, it’s always Virgil van Dijk who speaks out. The captain should do that, but there should be other players in the dressing room speaking on behalf of the club.”

He added, “A year ago, Mohamed Salah didn’t hesitate to express his opinion and speak out about not receiving a contract extension offer from the club. I only hear Salah speak up when he wins the Man of the Match award or when he needs a new contract.”

He concluded, “I hope to see Mohamed Salah speak out as a leader, a Liverpool legend, and represent the team. It shouldn’t be only the captain who speaks out.”

Salah was very visible last year during contract negotiations with Liverpool, consistently suggesting it was his final season with the Reds. This put pressure on the club’s management in the eyes of the fans, ultimately leading to a two-year extension.
