Liverpool’s management has made its position clear regarding the potential dismissal of manager Arne Slot following the Reds’ significant decline this season.
In recent days, it was reported that the Dutchman’s future was in serious jeopardy, particularly after the heavy 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool’s management has no plans to sack Slot and has clearly informed him that he will remain in his position and that he must work to get things back on track.
Meanwhile, British media outlets indicate that Slot is not safe from dismissal, and Liverpool’s management has given him until January to turn things around, otherwise he will be sacked.
The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported that if Slot were to be sacked, it would cost Liverpool a record sum that could exceed €20 million.
Slot earns €6.6 million annually at Liverpool, and the club will have to compensate him with his full salary until the end of his contract, in addition to bonuses and other incentives.
This is one of the main reasons the management is hesitant to sack Slot, as well as the club’s belief in the Dutchman’s ability to turn things around.
It’s worth noting that Slot made courageous statements after the loss to Nottingham Forest, clearly stating that he takes full responsibility for the recent poor results.
Liverpool currently sits in 11th place in the Premier League table and is eighth in the Champions League with nine points from their first four matches.
