UEFA has approved Barcelona’s request to play their remaining Champions League group stage matches at the Camp Nou, after receiving the necessary permits from the Spanish authorities.
UEFA rules stipulate that each team must play its home matches at a single stadium throughout the group stage. However, in Barcelona’s case, Aleksander Čeferin’s administration granted the Catalan club a special exception.
Barça played their matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Olympiacos at Montjuïc Stadium while awaiting approval from the Catalan government to reopen Camp Nou.
Last week, the government finally granted its approval, and Barcelona will return to Camp Nou starting with their La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao this Saturday.
Barcelona’s management had previously requested UEFA to host their match against Eintracht Frankfurt at Camp Nou on December 9, 2025, and then complete the remainder of the group stage there. This request has already been approved by UEFA.
Barcelona have 7 points from the first 4 rounds of the Champions League, placing them 11th in the league standings.
