Ter Stegen decides to leave Barcelona… and this is the club most likely to sign him

Spanish media outlets have reported that Marc-André ter Stegen has made his decision and will leave Barcelona in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The German goalkeeper is aware that Hansi Flick will continue to rely on Juan García as his first-choice goalkeeper until the end of the season, and has no intention of giving ter Stegen a chance, especially after his return from an absence of more than six months.

Julian Nagelsmann, the German national team coach, confirmed that ter Stegen will not be included in the German squad for the 2026 World Cup unless he plays regularly for the remainder of the current season. He indicated that it is not necessary for him to wear the jersey of one of Europe’s elite clubs, but rather that he simply needs to be consistently playing.

According to a recent report from the newspaper “Sport,” Marc-André ter Stegen will leave Barcelona on loan until the end of the season. Joan Laporta’s administration welcomes this idea, especially as it will reduce the financial burden on the club, given that the 34-year-old is one of the highest-paid players at Camp Nou.

Recently, Turkish club Beşiktaş has been the most interested in signing ter Stegen, and it is said that an official offer has already been submitted to the German goalkeeper, and he seems to have been largely convinced.

Beşiktaş officials are prepared to cover a significant portion of ter Stegen’s salary during the loan period, in addition to guaranteeing him a starting position in all domestic matches as well as Europa League games, something the German needs in the coming period.

It should be noted that several other European clubs are also interested in ter Stegen, with Chelsea and Monaco having been linked to him on more than one occasion. However, in terms of seriousness and action, Beşiktaş currently holds the advantage.
