Surprise: Guardiola Could Leave Manchester City Soon!

The 2025-26 season could be Pep Guardiola’s last with Manchester City, as the “Spanish philosopher” is considering leaving the English club for a long break to recharge.

Guardiola’s contract with City runs until the summer of 2027, but the manager has begun to feel that the end of the current season would be the perfect opportunity to leave the Etihad Stadium, or so he has reportedly told those close to him, according to The Times.

Guardiola categorically refused to leave City at the end of last season, wanting to leave the team at the top and in a stable position, which seems to be the case now given the English club’s outstanding performance both domestically and in Europe.

However, it’s not certain that this will be Guardiola’s final decision. The manager is still considering the matter and hasn’t made a final decision, but the option of leaving seems to be strongly on the table recently.

Guardiola had previously announced that upon leaving City, he would take a break from coaching to rest both mentally and physically after 13 consecutive years at Bayern Munich and then Manchester United.

Just days ago, Guardiola celebrated his 1000th match in charge, a milestone marked by numerous remarkable achievements, most notably winning the Champions League three times, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, La Liga, and others.

If he does leave City, the most likely scenario is that Guardiola will take charge of a national team after his rest period, as he has previously indicated.
