The end of the first half of the Real Madrid-Barcelona El Clásico was a thrilling affair, just as the match at the Santiago Bernabéu was intense from the start.
After taking the lead through Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid dominated possession and created danger, but in Barcelona’s first attack, the Catalan club equalized through Fermin Lopez.
Arda Güler undoubtedly bears responsibility for this goal, having lost the ball in a critical position. Barça capitalized on this with a perfect counter-attack, which reached Lopez inside the penalty area and he fired powerfully past Thibaut Courtois.
But in the 43rd minute, Jude Bellingham continued his impressive form, scoring Real Madrid’s second goal after setting up Mbappé’s first goal. He headed Vinicius Junior’s cross into the net, easily slotting it past Szczesny.
This is Bellingham’s fourth goal in El Clásico in seven matches. Coincidentally, all of the England international’s goals have come in La Liga.
Before this match this season, Bellingham had only scored once, against Juventus last week in the Champions League. Against the Blaugrana, he scored one goal and assisted another!
