Real Madrid will enter Sunday’s El Clásico against Barcelona with almost complete fitness, after most of the injured players recovered, with the exception of two.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal were injured last month and were expected to be out until November. Meanwhile, Dean Huyssen returned from the Spain national team camp injured and missed the last two matches. Dani Ceballos also suffered a muscle injury last week.
According to AS, Arnold, Carvajal, Huyssen, and Ceballos are all fit to play in El Clásico, and unless there is any news, Xabi Alonso will include them in the squad to host Barça at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Meanwhile, Raúl Asensio’s injury in the Champions League match against Juventus is not serious, and the Spanish center-back has also been cleared to participate in El Clásico.
Real Madrid’s only absentees against Barcelona will be Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba. Rudiger will not return anytime soon, while Alaba needs a week to recover from his injury in last week’s La Liga match against Getafe.
Barcelona, on the other hand, is facing several injury absences, most notably Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo. However, the Catalans have finally received positive news with the return of Rafinha and his readiness to complete Hansi Flick’s squad for the upcoming match.
It’s worth noting that Real Madrid leads the La Liga standings with 24 points from the first nine rounds, while Barcelona is in second place with 22 points.
