Joan Garcia Reveals His Position on El Clásico

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia has stated that he is unlikely to be available for El Clásico against Real Madrid on October 26th due to his failure to fully recover from his recent knee injury.

The Barça goalkeeper underwent knee surgery in mid-September and it was announced that he would need at most a month to return to action. His position remains uncertain as to whether he will be available for El Clásico.

Garcia appeared in a Euroleague basketball game and was asked about his injury. He responded, “The recovery is going very well. We’ll see how things develop, but in principle, I expect to be back in a month.”

By specifying “a month,” Garcia will not return until the end of the next international break in November, or at best just before. He is also certain to miss El Clásico, while Szczesny will continue to guard the Blaugrana goal.

Garcia will miss the La Liga matches against Girona, Real Madrid, Elche, and Celta Vigo, as well as the Champions League matches against Olympiacos and Club Brugge. He is expected to return against Athletic Bilbao on November 23.
