Dani Olmo sustained an injury during Spain’s final training session ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Georgia.
According to coach Luis de la Fuente’s press conference, Olmo was unable to complete 15 minutes of training on Friday and left for medical tests.
Sport reported that Olmo is unlikely to participate in Saturday’s match against Georgia, pending the results of tests to determine his availability for Tuesday’s match against Bulgaria.
Olmo’s injury is not the first to plague Spain’s players this camp. Den Huijsen also left de la Fuente’s squad a few days ago with a muscle injury that will keep him out for at least two weeks.
The coach is unlikely to risk Olmo, given the strained relations between the Spanish national team and Barcelona over the inclusion of Lamine Yamal in the last international break despite an injury. This suggests the player may return to Barça but not even feature against Bulgaria.
