A former Real Madrid star will join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.
This star is left-back Sergio Reguilon, who also previously played for Atlético Madrid.
According to Romano, the surprising negotiations between the two parties began in recent days, and all indications point to Reguilon ending up at Inter Miami within the next few days.
Reguilon could join the American club immediately, as he is a free agent after his contract with Tottenham expired last summer and he has not yet joined a club.
The idea of Inter Miami signing Reguilon raises several questions about Jordi Alba’s position, given that the Spanish international will constantly compete with him for a starting spot on the left flank for coach Javier Mascherano.
The 28-year-old Reguilon’s career was very bright at the beginning of his career with Real Madrid, but he has since been on the move between clubs, with a significant decline.
Reguilon has played for Sevilla, Real Madrid, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, and Brentford in his career, but last season he rarely featured for Spurs.
