Liverpool will be without their star goalkeeper Alisson for a relatively long period due to injury, according to Sky Sports’ latest report.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was unable to complete the Champions League match against Galatasaray due to a muscle injury. Immediately after the match, Arne Slot announced that things were not looking good and that Alisson would definitely miss the Chelsea match.
According to Sky, Alisson has a torn hamstring and will be out for at least six weeks, meaning he won’t return until after the next international break in November.
This means Alisson will miss a number of important matches. In the Premier League, he will miss matches against Chelsea, Manchester United, Brentford, Aston Villa, and Manchester City, as well as matches against Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Madrid in the Champions League, and Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
In the 33-year-old’s absence, goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will have the opportunity to take over as Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper after returning from his loan spell at Valencia last summer.
