Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the Premier League season, losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The London club took the lead through Ismaila Sarr in the ninth minute, but after a valiant effort, the Reds were able to equalize through substitute Federico Chiesa in the 87th minute.
Liverpool has won most of its matches this season by a goal in the final quarter of an hour, and everyone thought this scenario would repeat itself, especially with Arne Slot’s side’s comeback after Chiesa’s goal.

However, the exact opposite happened, as Edward Nketiah scored the winning goal for Crystal Palace in the 97th minute, amidst widespread anger from Slot, who felt the referee had exaggerated the amount of stoppage time added.
Liverpool’s tally remains at 15 points at the top of the Premier League, while Crystal Palace are second with 12 points.
If Arsenal beat Newcastle on Sunday, the Reds will be just two points behind the Gunners, and the excitement will return once again, very early, in the race for the Premier League title.
