Ahly player Ahmed Sayed Zizo is racing against time to make it to the Egyptian Premier League summit against Zamalek, scheduled for September 29.
Zizo sustained an injury in the opening minutes of the match against Enppi and was diagnosed with a strained adductor muscle, requiring him to rest for approximately a month.
According to Egyptian media reports, Al Ahly’s medical staff believes Zizo will not be able to make it to the Zamalek match, but the player rejects this and insists he will be able to recover before the upcoming match.
Medically, Zizo needs a period of 7 to 10 days to fully recover before participating in matches, while the summit match is only less than a week away.
However, from the player’s perspective, he is doing everything he can to recover before then. According to sources, he is undergoing a rehabilitation program twice a day in the hope that this will result in a faster recovery of the injured muscle, allowing him to be at Cairo International Stadium next Monday.
Ultimately, the player will not risk his safety. Rather, what he is currently doing is merely a logical attempt to achieve a speedy recovery. Coach Emad El Nahhas informed him that he has no intention of fielding him again while he is not ready, even if Zizo does so at his own risk.
Zizo has participated in four Egyptian Premier League matches with Al Ahly this season, contributing four goals, half of which he assisted and the other half scored.
