Lamine Yamal’s absence from Barcelona will not be as short as expected, as he will need a relatively long time to fully recover.
Yamal missed Barcelona’s last match against Valencia due to his return from the Spanish national team with an injury. The Catalan club has been working in recent days to prepare him for the Champions League match against Newcastle.
Yamal was unable to participate in group training throughout this week, and he is also certain to miss the Newcastle match.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Yamal will continue to be out for at least another week and will miss the La Liga matches against Getafe and Real Oviedo.
Barcelona’s technical staff is currently preparing Yamal to be 100% fit for the Paris Saint-Germain match, and there is no intention of risking him before then unless his full recovery is confirmed.
If all goes as planned, Yamal will play a few minutes against Real Sociedad on Sunday, September 28, and then start against Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona will then play another match against Sevilla in La Liga, followed by the international break. Everyone will be awaiting the Catalan club’s decision regarding whether to allow the 18-year-old to join the Spanish national team, following the widespread anger directed at coach De la Fuente for fielding Yamal while injured.
