Egyptian media reported that Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s injury is not minor, with expectations that his absence could be prolonged.
Zizo left the Al-Ahly and Enppi match on Saturday after just 27 minutes due to a muscle injury, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Arab Contractors Stadium.
According to recent reports, Zizo is suffering from an adductor injury and will undergo further medical tests to determine the extent of his injury and the length of his absence.
However, it is not expected that Zizo will be available for the match against Zamalek scheduled for Monday, September 29.
If the injury is moderate, Zizo will be out for a month and a half. If it is less serious, his absence will extend to two to three weeks.
Zizo’s absence from Al-Ahly’s top-of-the-table clash is undoubtedly a major blow, as he is one of the Red Castle’s most prominent players this season, even in light of the poor results experienced by Emad El-Nahhas’ squad.
Zizo has participated in five league matches with Al Ahly this season, scoring two goals and assisting two.
Al Ahly currently sits in fifteenth place in the Egyptian Premier League standings, having collected only six points from five matches, seven points behind leaders Zamalek.
