Brazilian media outlets have reported that Al-Nassr is in negotiations with Manchester City to sign goalkeeper Ederson before the end of the current summer transfer window.
It is no secret that City is seeking Ederson’s departure in order to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Brazilian was already close to joining Galatasaray, but an agreement between the two clubs remains elusive.
In recent days, Saudi media reported that Cristiano Ronaldo informed Al-Nassr’s management of his desire to remove goalkeeper Pinto, citing his lack of confidence in his performance. Furthermore, the Brazilian’s disappointing performance in the Saudi Super Cup final against Al-Ahli led the club to consider dispensing with him.
However, Al-Youm newspaper confirmed that the circulating reports of Al-Nassr’s interest in signing Ederson are unfounded.
Al-Nassr continues to search for a new foreign goalkeeper, especially since Pinto is currently in negotiations with Al-Shabab to move to Al-Luuth, most likely on loan.
Al-Nassr has not yet determined the identity of the goalkeeper it will pursue in the remaining hours of the transfer window, but it is certain that it will be a world-renowned goalkeeper. Both Ronaldo and coach Jorge Jesus emphasize the need to sign a goalkeeper who can save the team in difficult times.
