By the numbers… Mbappé is the “king” of penalties in La Liga!

Since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, Kylian Mbappé has achieved impressive individual records, but what’s currently emerging is that he’s the player with the most penalties in La Liga!

Mbappé participated in Real Madrid’s first match of the season in La Liga against Osasuna, where he won a penalty and converted it, giving Los Blancos the only goal and three valuable points.

According to Opta, Mbappé has scored eight penalties in La Liga since the start of last season, more than any other player, tied with Osasuna striker Ante Budimir.

Mbappé’s first goal came from a penalty in early September 2024 against Real Betis, and he has since scored against Real Sociedad, Espanyol, Las Palmas, Valladolid, Leganés, and Barcelona.

Despite his solidity and good shooting technique, Mbappé also missed two penalties last season in La Liga, the most influential of which was against Athletic Bilbao in the Basque Country and against Real Sociedad. He also missed one in the Champions League against Liverpool at Anfield.

It should be noted that, apart from penalties, the 25-year-old Mbappé has scored 37 goals for Real Madrid in all competitions so far and provided five assists.
