Reports: Manchester United Wants to Sign Vinicius Junior

The final days of the current summer transfer window could witness a huge deal, with talk here of Vinicius Junior leaving Real Madrid and moving to another European giant, Manchester United.

The popular website fichajes published a report confirming United’s interest in signing the Brazilian international, especially in light of the uncertainty surrounding Vinicius’ future at the Santiago Bernabéu following the breakdown of renewal negotiations over the past month.

The report stated that Manchester United has allocated €200 million to persuade Real Madrid to sell Vinicius, making the Brazilian the second-largest transfer in history after Neymar’s transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 (€222 million).

The Red Devils’ management dreams of a strong attacking line capable of competing with Liverpool and Manchester City. Following the duo of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, there is a belief that Vinicius can be the final link in this chain and lead Ruben Amorim’s squad to glory.

Spanish media previously reported that Real Madrid’s management might agree to sell Vinicius this summer if they are certain he will not renew his contract. This would maximize the financial benefit for his successor, rather than letting him leave for free in the summer of 2027, or for a small sum in the summer of 2026.

It’s worth noting that the 25-year-old Vinicius has previously confirmed that his priority is to continue with Real Madrid, calling the club “the club of his life.” However, he is still demanding a salary similar to Kylian Mbappé’s, i.e., €30 million per year, a demand that Florentino Pérez’s administration categorically rejects.
