-Ahly Considers Signing an Egyptian International Striker

A new name has entered the Al-Ahly management’s radar as they seek to sign a new striker to replace Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali, who will leave for Columbus Crew in the United States in the coming days.

Jordanian Yazan Al-Naimat was the first name to surface in recent hours, but the deal currently appears unlikely due to the high financial demands of the Qatari Al-Arabi star and the difficulty of getting rid of any foreigner on Al-Ahly’s current roster.

According to Egyptian media reports, Egyptian international striker Ahmed Hassan Kouka is a strong candidate to replace Abu Ali at Al-Ahly, and negotiations are currently underway between the two parties.

Kouka played for Le Havre last season, scoring three goals in 16 league matches. However, he did not renew his contract at the end of the season, becoming a free agent, allowing him to join Al-Ahly on a free transfer.

Sources within Al-Ahly indicated that the club is considering signing Kouka on a one-year contract, and the matter is now up to coach José Rivero to make the final decision on whether to approve the deal or select another striker.

Kouka had previously announced his dream of returning to Al-Ahly and was waiting for the right opportunity, making the deal possible this summer, given the Red Devils’ need for a new striker and the player’s own search for a new career path.

Kouka, 32, began his career with Al-Ahly’s youth team before moving to Rio Ave in Portugal, embarking on a long journey across Europe, including spells in Portugal, Turkey, Greece, and finally France.
