Bayern Munich submitted an official offer to Liverpool to sign Luis Diaz during the current summer transfer window. Despite the huge financial value of the offer, the English club quickly rejected it outright.
The Athletic revealed that Bayern Munich offered €67.5 million to sign Diaz, whose contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2027. However, the Reds clearly informed the Bavarian club that the Colombian international is not for sale.
According to the report, Liverpool believes the only way to agree to Diaz’s departure is to receive an unmissable financial offer, specifically one worth more than €100 million.
It is reported that Bayern Munich’s management will not give up and will attempt to present an improved offer to Liverpool in the coming hours, although the English club’s management does not intend to let the player go easily or for a price that is not satisfactory, especially since he is a key player for coach Arne Slot.
What is interesting is that despite Bayern Munich’s official moves and the huge offer, there has not yet been an agreement between the German club and Luis Díaz on personal terms. All that has happened is that the player has initially welcomed the move, just as he did with Barcelona previously.
Given Liverpool’s huge financial demands, the Reds have ended any hopes Barcelona had of signing Díaz. The Catalan club does not have the funds to pay €100 million or a similar amount due to its financial situation, unless it makes a major sale, all of which are unlikely this summer.
It should be noted that British media previously confirmed that if Diaz is sold, Liverpool will look to replace him by signing Real Madrid star Rodrygo, while the English club is working on signing Jean-Philippe Mateta or Nicolas Jackson to replace the departed Diogo Jota.
